'Three Acres And A Cow’ connects the Norman Conquest and Peasants’ Revolt with current issues like fracking, the housing crisis and transition town and food sovereignty movements via the Enclosures, English Civil War, Irish Land League and Industrial Revolution, drawing a compelling narrative through the radical people’s history of Britain in folk song, stories and poems. The show will feature Rachel Rose Reid and Robin Grey plus special guests Cat Brogan and Stick in the Wheel.

The Willesden Green Wassail 2016

A 'wassail' is an old rural custom of blessing and singing around apple

trees in mid-Winter, in the hope of bringing on a bumper crop!

Here in Willesden it's a little bit different: Our shopkeepers and community activists are our apple trees - they give so much and deserve our support! The streets we walk on are our orchards - and we can find ways to be joyful and share community with everyone who shares these roads and pavements.
The Willesden Green Wassail began in 2010. We took a year off in 2015, but we're back, and are very happy to announce that the new Library at Willesden Green has planted two crab apple trees for the Wassail, to replace the ones that we previously planted in front of the old building.

LONDON IRISH LGBT NETWORK: POETS, PRIESTS, DRUIDS AND BEANDRAOÍTHE

FREE

The London Irish LGBT present their first poetry evening.

The Cauldron, or in Christian terms, the Grail, is a central recurring motif in Celtic Mythology: the vessel is a symbol of the inexhaustible resources of the spirit, forever renewing itself, whether it be the hidden spirit that animates all matter, or, in psychological terms, an energy in the depths of the mind that, if developed, can free us from dependence on the body and the tyranny of historical fact.

Introduced by His Excellency the Irish Ambassador and with poetry from Yeats to Heaney to Eaven Boland, together with poets Maureen Duffy and Cat Brogan and others
