Student 2nd in Ledbury Poetry Festival Competition

My student came 2nd in this pretigious, national competition. Here is her winning poem

Teardrops

by Christy Fielder

She paused,

Taking a long, distant sigh,

She rose from her seat and walked,

She said: You know, it isn’t easy,

And looked queasy,

At her wound.

A small, silent tear fell,

From her gentle eyes,

It was the pot that boiled over,

It dug at you like a jack hammer,

But we heard only silence.
